Legal StudiesBusiness Emphasis


A minimum of 24 – 29 units in Legal Studies including elective units in the business emphasis group must be earned at Cuesta College for a Legal Studies, A.A. Degree. The courses used to pursue an A.A. degree in Legal Studies may be used more than once to pursue more than one degree, for instance, a joint degree in Business Administration and Legal Studies.

Social Science Emphasis


A minimum of 24 – 29 units in Legal Studies including elective units in the social science emphasis group must be earned at Cuesta College for a Legal Studies, A.A. Degree. The courses used to pursue an A.A. degree in Legal Studies may be used more than once to pursue more than one degree, for instance, a joint degree in Political Science and Legal Studies. Besides satisfying the requirements for an A.A. degree in Legal Studies at Cuesta College, the required and elective courses in the Legal Studies Program can be used to help complete the lower division requirements for transfer to a 4-year business administration, business economics, business law, business management, management, or managerial economics program at either the CSU’s or the UC’s.

*Cuesta College requires that general education coursework must be completed in addition to the above-required courses in order to receive an associate of arts (A.A.) degree at Cuesta College.
